Event Speaker - Bob Gresser

Instructor/Consultant, Media Consultants

Mr. Bob Gresser has worked with Media Consultants since 1990 in diverse capacities ranging from marketing and business development to instructor, media role-player, and exercise evaluator.

Mr. Gresser has completed FEMA and USCG courses in the NIMS Incident Command System including ICS-100, 200, 300, and 400 plus IS-700, 702, and IS-800, and is a qualified NIMS Instructor. He helps assess and develop crisis communications plans, assists teaching the Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced crisis communications seminars, role-plays during on-camera media interviews, and helps design and facilitate drills and exercises.

For example, during the 2006 Deer Park Full-Scale Exercise, he supervised the Simulation Cell’s staff of eight Simulators who role-played as affected community residents, local elected officials, and aggressive news reporters. Using the new HSEEP exercise format required by DHS/FEMA and the State of Texas, Bob drafted the 30-page “After Action Report and Corrective Action Improvement Plan” summarizing the lessons learned from the exercise.

Mr. Gresser came to Media Consultants after almost 20 years in broadcasting at major market stations such as KTRH and KIKK in Houston; KTSA in San Antonio; and CNN Radio in Atlanta, among others. He has worked as an anchor and reporter. Mr. Gresser covered a wide variety of breaking news stories and won numerous local and state broadcasting awards for both individual and team coverage.
